Default Oil in upper inlet manifold

As said in heading, I undid my upper inlet manifold yesterday, and in addition to all the black gunk it was clear evidence of something shiny in there as well. Is that normal??
Been having loads of problems lately with spanner light coming on, engine runs but does not respond to the trottle. I stop the engine and after 10 sec off it works fine again. I changed the EGR after having several EGR related codes, but that just seemed to make it worse...
Car is '04 2,0 DTI done 178000 km.

    Any help is appreciated

Are you talking about shiny things in the 'black gunk'?

If you with "things" mean solid objects, then no. I was shiny liquid kinda mixed with the gunk, and it was also visible on the gasket. If looked and felt like oil, but could of course be some other kind of liquid.
