Unhappy Can my luck really be that bad

Had my Neuton tyres fitted yesterday and must say I'm was chuffed to bits with them.

Now they have been on the car exactly 10hrs 14mins.......

Decided to go to Halfords to try and get some E-Torx sockets (E18 & E20) to fit my Upper Control Arms this afternoon and as I was taking my exit off the roundabout BANG...... RATTLE.

Immediately pulled the car to the side of the road (where it was safe to do so) and......... YEP hisssssssssss from the rear drivers side tyre.

Flipping great not even a day old and I've knackered the tyre.

Walked back to the exit of the roundabout only to find that there was a 3/8 wratchet extension bar (5 inch) in the middle of the road. It was the only foreign body there apart from the usual road grit and a few chunks of my wheel arch liner

To say I'm pi$$ed off is an understatement

Having just forked out £180 for the tyres + £40 to fit them, £86 for Upper control arms and £60 for rear antirollbar bushes, droplinks + extras, I could have done with a little luck

So to top it all off get to Halfords and find the maximum size E-Torx socket they do is E16 which is no flipping good anyway

Now need to call NEOBROS and order another tyre to get fitted.......

Sorry for the rant but was feeling like I was going to explode. Can things get any better

    Damo

Gutted for you buddy,... I have Neutons on my other Vec,.. but I can't get Neuton tyres for my XP2, and so I have Kumho tyres fitted. If I damage or someone knives the tyre, I get a replacement on a balance cost. If the tyre is half worn then I pay 50%, so in your case, I'd get a free new tyre! Lifetime guarantee on mine,.. well worth it.

Cheers gents, I've perked up a bit now but could have done without it all the same

The funny thing is after retrieving the extension, out of anger I threw it some distance into a load of overgrown wasteland beside the road

Upon getting home I thought to my self, I should have kept it to help with doing the Upper Control Arms (as below). What a plank lol

(thank you paul.sessions for the tip )

As it happens I am short of one of the longer extensions anyway

Oh well, hope things will start to look up from now on

Have just ordered another tyre from Neobros as I prefer to keep them matching on the same axle. However thanks for the heads-up chewy about the Khumo's will look into that when the fronts need doing (about 4 months down the road)

Things can only get better. What are these tyres like for tread wear and road noise? Was just about to order more NCT5's until I saw the price of these

Cheers Ade, fortunately yes it was only at 10 mph and not at motorway speeds

With regards to tread wear, unfortunately I cannot comment as I've only done 23miles on them but have heard lots of good reviews hence the reason for buying them

Road noise doesn't seem bad at all, they are a damn site quieter than the Nexen tyres that I had on and do feel a lot stickier (feel more confident grip wise)

Have not had the opportunity to see what they are like in the wet yet so again can't really comment but first impressions are really good

Noticed that you're only round the corner, just checked and I've got E18 and E20 sockets if you need to borrow them.
