Default HELP!! Can't get in the bonnet

Either cable has snapped or is trapped.

How do i get in the bonnet? Tried removing cable from the handle in footwell and pulling hard but nothing.

    Any ideas anyone

it may help to have someone push down on the bonnet while you pull the cable..other than that you'll have to take the bumper skin off to get in at the back of the spring catch.. it is quite easy to remove the bumper with the bonnet closed..

Happened to me on Sunday; the catch released partly but I could not open the bonnet. This has happened to me before. I pushed the bonnet back down, locked the car then unlocked it. That seemed to reset the bonnet lock. Then I pulled up gently on the edge of the bonnet while my wife operated the catch and it opened!. The catch looked a bit rusty so I greased it thoroughly. It may not work but it's worth a try!

locking the car won't affect a thing.. the 'lock' isn't connecetd to anything on the car.. what helped would be the '2 person' opening of the bonnet..if one person works the cable, and one jiggles the bonnet it may open..

The best thing is to have a second person wobble the bonnet up and down at the front as you pull the catch. If you don't have any friends like me, pull the catch with your left hand and slap the corner of the bonnet with your right hand. HTH
