    Default turbos

i am wondering if this has been done ??

i am led to believe that the 1.9 cdti 150 is the same engine as the tid 150 in the Saab
and the engine in the Saab 93 ttid are the same but the manifolds are different to hold the twin turbo. has anyone tried fitting one of these ??

A hybrid turbo can happily produce 2bar of pressure from 1800rpm upto the red line, the only place you would see a benifit with the saab TT setup is very low in the Rev range. You could make up a sequential turbo setup with the first mechanically controlled by boost and the second via the standard method, You would need an oil line, a manifold and induction pipework. Bit more expensive than the £450 for a hybrid...

I have seen 215bhp at the road wheel so far on standard injectors and the road wheel power is a much better indicator of the vehicles output as the flywheel figure can not be accurately measured, only estimated or crudely measured on run down. Average losses over most of the rollers I have seen is about 36bhp lossed at 4000rpm, slightly more losses may be seen to peak power figures above this but the 50+bhp losses you get from places like Regal are not realistic and the lowest quote I have had is 21bhp which is also rather unlikely.

Most places only make 52mm comp hybrids which you would struggle to truely get over 220bhp but they can push out enough pressure low down to hit around 400lbft. if you are not changing anything else, that would be the way to go. AET, CR Turbos, Turbo Technics, a quick search will bring up loads. I have a Turbo Technics 52mm in the garage I am trying to shift that I ran over 200 road wheel power on.
