Default plz help i seem to have bought a dog

hi any advice would be gladly recived. prob is as follows.
i had a rear wheel bearing go on me about 2 months ago so went out and got gruby all good "yay done" or so i thought after a few drives i noticed the tell tail groan again though oh well maybe just tyre noise so left it for a while now they are propperly howling again, prob my fault for buying them from ebay. however having read tones of threads now im wondering if maybe the rear arms have gone too. but just to make matters even better i have just noticed i have a snapped rear spring too.
so i suppose my actual question is how do i check the arms knowing i have other faults.

many thanks in advance even if you just read it and cant help cheers for your time dan.

ps if anyone local to poole or bournemouth could maybe give a friendy look maybe for a beer or someting. could be very helpfull especialy if had experiance in this area.

pps sorry for my poor spelling cant seem to get the spell check to work.

    cheers again dan

Grab hold top of the rear wheel and pull towards yourself if upper control arm bushes are worn you'll feel movement.

How many miles have you coverd on new bearing/ time might be worth contacting manufacturer some offer a 6/12 month limited mileage warranty on certain parts.

If the bearing is shot you will probably feel a bit of play anyway, won't you?

If you jack it up and check for side to side movement first to determine how much play is in the bearing and then check for top to bottom play, you should be able to tell if it's just the bearing or if you need the control arm too.

    Gotta be worth a try.

i think the play in these types of bearings is soo minimal you wont feel it,

i would advise trying to swap front wheels to rear and check to see if the noise moves up front, it could be feathered tyres..

    cheers for your replys.
right i have play when i pull from the top of the wheel but the wheel bearing is def gone so surely i would have play in that direction due to bearing?
and yes the Co i bought the bearing from are send me a new one im thinking just replace the arms any way now, anyone know of a good place to get them?
as for tyers when i jack the car the wheel is rumbling when i free spin it plus running the pressures hard or soft seems to make no diff to the noise in the car so im ruling them out at the mo.
    again cheers for your time
