gutted,having to use my car for work!

well as i was off for five weeks after hurting my back at work,it came as no surprise that when i went back to work on friday my vans been given to someone else and im no getting it back! thats what happens when you work for pedantic council gaffers like i do! i hate using my car for work as it gets filthy and boot is full of tools! oh and a v6 turbo auto is not going to do 50 mpg in town driving! might have to invest in a wee diesel van of my own but tbh i could really do without expense! off for a sob now!

i would also look at your insurance as you may not be covered not unless your work will insure it

would never admit to using it for all you know if something happened just where going to the shops. and the tools where your fathers LOL

class 1 business use doesnt add that much to the insurance, i have to have that for mine.

im only commuting to and from work and not using it in between times so ok on insurance front

I worked for the council way back in the early 90s,... I made a killing on the fuel allowance. Back then anything over 2.5 litres you got 55p per mile!!!!!

if only mate anyone that works for them and uses their own car gets no fuel allowance!

It also has to be one, permanent place of work though, if you go to a couple of different places to work then that's considered business use.
