    Default z20net smoking everynow and then and using oil????? help me please

    hi my 2.0 t z20net siggy has started smoking every now and then (white smoke) and in last 2k used bout litre and half of oil looking for any ideas to help me get it srted as is a family car n carnt do with out it, any ideas will be helpful thanks to all

    Have you took the oil cap of and had a look underneath it for mayo looking substance white smoke means condensation in ya exhaust system but if you are using a lot of oil i would say head gasket or turbo

    Much more likely to be the turbo than the head gasket.

    What sort of mileage has the car done. What oil are using i.e 5w30. My 2.0T did the same until I did an oil change to 10w40. happy days after that.

    My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

    cars just done 62k and no mayo had 2 recent oil changes with flushes and using 10w 40 oil as i got car at 59k and oil was thick, when it get warms its smells oily as well if thats any thing?? and seen people on about garret turbos for em and injector kits & remap how much would i be looking at for all that if i need a new turbo?

    How old is it? I'm not 100% certain, but I think the later models had the bigger Mitsubishi turbo (or I could be mistaken and confusing it with the later cars having the bigger injectors).

    If it is the turbo i would go for a new hybrid one with remap to suit looking at best part of £1000 mate thou for that if u looking for a replace probably about £300-£450 depending wither u buy recon or a 2nd hand one

    its pre face lift on a 2004 and just looking see what is the best op[tion as i do have a bit away atm so could do other bits if it would cure it and make it better.
