Scotchlock are an easy option, but you would be better having soldered joints
That's what I was thinking but for short wires and hard to get toOriginally Posted by phil67
I have used scotchlocks before on several things (low power resources) and most of the time they are ok, whats the worst that can happen, it stops working and then you can always solder then
I have used them in all my wiring not had any problems, as long as when closing it dont use the clip lid to close it use a pair of pliers to compress the metal contact into place (flush with top section) then close lid by hand. The reason im saying is that some people use the lid to lock and clip into place, and sometimes depends how strong the wire sleithing is sometimes pushes the metal conector through the lid not making a conection .
Scotch locks will take 50v max so 12 is fine alot use then for connectin tow bars up
scotch locks are good, probably better than solder, as sometimes solder can corrode (probably only after a billion years though)
Thanks for the advise great as always I've orderd 20 of them for 1.49 i think it was then 90p postage on eBay am going to be wiring up sidelights to the cig lighter so they come on when I unlock the car and I can put leds in then place the normal sidelights somewhere where they are not seen
