    Default Internal light conversion, help?

I fancy fitting one of these:36panel.jpg first up, has anyone done it? Looks like a fairly easy mod.

But, how do I remove this: IMAG0400.jpg I can see 2 bulbs, I'll connect the LED pad into one and take the other out then replace the personal lights with LEDs at a later date.IMAG0399.jpg But the white insert bit has me foxed, there are 3 TORX screws to remove, I've been having a play, removed them but the insert is still fixed, I'm assuming some lugs somewhere? The bulbs appear to be attached to a fitting plate or similar under (or is that above?) the white insert plate and aren't really accesible through it, they just disappear into the unit when I try and grip them to remove one.

Any ideas? Or is there a HOW2 that I've overlooked?

i found it a pain to grip them by hand so used pliers to pull them out there is no real need to remove the complete unit

but if you feel you want to then do as below
undo torx screws (they wont come all the way out) pull the alarm sensor down and towards the rear of car as it just unclips
there is 4 tabs one on each corner release them starting with the ones by the window screen first them the rears then slide forward a bit and its out then just unclip the loom

hope that helps an get some pics up once done bud

Will do. I put the blue LED side lights I bought last week in the rear today, easy to do. Initially I put them in her X-Trail but she didn't like them and made me change them back! I got a warning light on the dash and readout screen when I put them in last week, had to swap back to my standard bulbs.

Might put up the changeover as a HOW2 as well. Fancy changing the glovebox and boot lights too. The ebay seller does 12, 24 and 36LED lights. I assume the map lights are the same fitting as the rear passenger light? In other words side lights?

I put http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1107300874...84.m1439.l2649 this one in mine. Very easy mod just take the two 501 bulbs out and plug in 1 with the adapter and stick the led pad on, easy.
But to add i have put mine back to standard as it was way too bright, hurts your eyes when dark, maybe less leds would be better. Relegated the led pad to the boot light and works well.

Cheers, looking at yours you put in the 48 LED version, I'd planned on the 36 for the main light and 12s for the boot and glove box. I'll give the 36 a go but may drop it for a 24 or 12 if need be.

    Cheesr for the info.

Ok, the bulbs are on their way (payday purchase ) I've opted for the 24LED one for the front and have 2 x 12LED ones for the glove box and the boot. The ones I've put in the rear look the mutts, normal 501 4 blue LEDs. She hates them but so what.
