    Default EML light confusion?

    hello guys/gals

the other week i put HIDs in and in testing them with the air box off i turned the ignition, after putting it all back together my EML light was on? now is this because i turned ignition with air box off you think? I've left it a bit in hope the it would turn itself off and I've disconnected battery for a couple of hours but to no avail, could this mean I've knackered my AFM??

    helps appreciated folks

    thanks

What engine do you have? Is the car running ok?

Assuming you disconnected the MAF Sensor, in order to improve access, the engine will have recorded this
If the engine was started like this, then it would go into Safe Mode
On reconnection and restart it will be a warning light only
As I've mentioned before, remove the ignition key, wait about 30 minutes then restart

I did a similiar thing myself. Disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and when you reconnect it the EML light should be gone.

Sounds fine to me, the light simply confirms a fault has been recorded
Once you have restarted the engine about 10 times or waited 48 hours the light will go out
