    Default I'm impressed.

Well after 1300 miles covered over the last two weeks I'm well pleased with 49.5 mpg the BC is showing on our return from holiday. Expecting much lower return, half of those miles have been motorway, Derbyshire to Cornwall. The other half just running around with some pretty steep twisty roads and stuck behind tractors etc (well we were staying on a farm B & B) And I've not been hanging around either or trying to make the fuel go further.
I know others have probably had better economy but without trying to go gently it's not bad.

I know many people have an issue with the 150, but for all its faults i think its a chuffin brillient engine, cant fault mine so far. Hopefully youll have many more years of trouble free motoring.

    I won't I'm afraid, it's going shortly.
Not that there is a problem with it, it's just too big for my needs now.
I'm going to buy a smaller car now (a petrol that will do similar mpg, zero tax) and with retirement looming I will only be doing around 3-4k a year, short town like journeys.

So it's had it's finale on hols, never missed a beat. We order a new car next week.

    Sad but true.

Just chuffed at how well it performed on hols.

Size is the main reason it's going just me and the missus to transport around.

Yes, but you deserve a bit of 'big car' comfort in your retirement surely
You'll know you've driven to Cornwall in a 1 litre rattlebox with economy seats.

I'll be on the old fogies bus when I want to go that far again.

No seriously, it's been a bit of a shall I stick with it or go smaller decision to make now for a few months. So apart from our main holidays it doesn't really get used for any long distance and definately don't do Cornwall every year.

have to say on majority I don't need the Vec's size, but handy when I do. Plus having driven smaller cars on occasion like my dad's Celica, or a Focus, even a 55 plate Avensis,.. they seem small and just not as safe or solid as the Vec.
