Eek Help it's having a fit!

    here's the story:

Having picked it up from a full service by vauxhall this morn I've taken it for its first drive and upon slamming breaks on to avoid a lane-swapping-coffin-dodger the car immediately sounded rough.

seconds later it stalls (at 60mph), and although it started up immediately upon turning the ignition, the whole car looks as though it's shaking itself to bits.

    details for troubleshooting:

    engine mounts look fine.
upon increasing the throttle above 1800 revs, shaking stops and engine sits still again.
idle speed is between 700-800 revs (I think that's normal)

Sound like air flow meter problem... Has the filter been replaced and all hoses put back properly?

Faulty airflow should throw up eml on dash but K&N filters can gunk the sensor up so might be worth cleaning out with carb cleaner...

Hard to say really but since you've just had service done my guess is somethings been knocked or not put back properly.

always worth checking simple things like vac pipes and listen for air leaks around the engine bay as this can cause power loss and rough running

I cannot believe what I found when I removed some of the spark plugs.

Having paid for four new spark plugs during it's service this morning, I have now discovered that cilinder one was not firing and it's spark plug has been cross threaded so I cannot remove it. To me these plugs look old - can someone clarify that these plugs have not been changed - they don't look like they've only been in for 5miles!

I thought I was safe by taking it to a vauxhall (greenhous) dealer.

I don't want to go in there guns blazing if these could be new plugs...

They are not new plugs - are you sure that plug replacement was part of the service schedule - have they give you an itemised bill that shows new plugs?

can someone please talk me through how to check for the other items on this because as you'd expect - they've knocked my confidence and I'm not sure what else will have been charged for with the attitude of 'the customer won't be able to tell'
