dropped laptop now not working

as above. dropped about 2feet it turned off on its own and now will try to boot up but fails to fire up. any ideas welcome.thanks in advance

You could try removing the hard drive and reinserting it.

Is it still under warranty.? Mine fired up and just beeped no picture the motherboard needed replacing.

If it was me I'd probably drop it again, to see if that fixed it, if not, I'd ring the insurance company lol

manufacturers warranty does not cover accidental damage.. When they test the drive it will throw up an error code saying 'impact damage'..

not necessarly, the hard drive does not stocks any codes like drop or smth like that. all u can say is that u tried to put it on in the morning and it did not work. thay are loads of viruses in the world which can do what happened to you. maybe the discs inside the hdd are gone or the reading head went of my half of micron.... just call them and 100 % sure that they cannot tell ya that you dropt it (unless there is a visible sign of the damage) .
But, lately, as i found out, they are installing a software that can "listen" to the inflections in your voice and they can tell ya if you are lying or not (it happened to me) (they were repeating a message that they are runing tests about the level of the stress in ur voice)....anyway...let us know how it went !!!

its about 5 years old its only me uses it after i bought wife an ipad.may just buy an android tabletwould like to save files though
