From what I've heard mate, probably a blown fuel pump and a negative bank balance, they don't take to been remapped very well.

the hp fuel pump can be a little fragile when remapped, although yours being a 2004 is a bit stronger than the later ones. I ran a tuning box on my 2003 with impressive results (imo)

The fuel pump could cost around £1500 if it blows up wuth a bad remap etc, hence why people say to be a bit careful.

Anything on the 3.0s that increases the fuel pressure is risky, be it tuning box or remap. Some people have killed the HP pump, others have done thousands of miles with no problems at all. It's a chance at the end of the day!

I had running problems with my 2006 3.0, changed the fuel filter and it has been OK for over a month, no management light or going into limp mode any more. The fuel filter on mine was was filfthy.

If you box/remap it and you drive it like you stole it all the time then yes...you will most probably wave goodbye to quite a bit of cash. I've had mine boxed since December and done 13k so far. I'm now at 160k (175k cos it was clocked actually ) and no problems so far. I do drive the same way as before I fitted the box though so that could be why it's still running...

How much did your fuel filter cost??

And guys im not going to do a remap...more trouble by the sounds of it than its worth. I just wanna get my car running like it was yesterday. Iv gotta sort this problem out!! Apparently it may b the EGR valve? Iv opened a thread under engine something?!
