    Default Happy Light Show Problems

Anyone got a Happy Light show that is working OK??
    Preferably near the Wirral??

I bought a used HLS from Vectra-C spares, Sheffield, on ebay.
I can get it working, but not for long, it gets hot and the Red LED starts staying on and flashing off, and the dials do funny things when I try to program it.

So if someone who is used to the HLS could test it for me that would be very helpful.
It is Version 118a, and is a white PCB, unlike the one shown on Happylightshow.de instructions.

I would like to know if it my car/socket or the HLS or my lack of experience using the HLS that is the problem.

I have contacted Rich at Vectra-C spares, and he has offered me a full refund without me returning the HLS, which is very trustfull of him. But ideally I would like it working.
    Thanks

I think I should have posted this in Troubleshooting/Electrical section.

Sorry Mods, thread can be moved if necessary.

Yes, i read that in the instruction, and using the brake pedal the Speedo dial moves as it should.
So if i use the brake to select 10mph and then I use the clutch to change the to the Rev counter (and indicator teltale light moves from the left to the Right (my telltale lights work different to the instructions)), then use the brake the rev counter goes to 500 instead of 1000, or 2500 instead of 3000.
And when I then use the clutch pedal to change back to the Speedo, the speedo might now be on 50mph or 60mph and not 10mph.

I've got HLS and I have to confess that it took me a few minutes to become familiar with how the needles/dials worked in relation to pressing the clutch and brake pedals to program the settings. After a bit of patience and self-learning, I've got my HLS doing everything I wanted from it. It doesn't help that the instructions supplied are not translated into 'good' English! If you get stuck, send me a PM and I'll see if I can help!
