Default Saw an 'old' vec c yesterday..

I had to look twice, but it was a black '02' reg one. It must be the earliest one I have seen at any rate. I assumed (wrongly) they were 52 reg onwards.

    yeah mine was '02...

You can tell the difference just by touching them - not only did vauxhall make a number of tiny spec improvements, the body panels were sourced from different materials from what I can tell. To the point where I had pneumatic springs to hold my old bonnet up yet it would constantly come crashing back down just through sheer weight!!!

I love mine...now Hated it 6 months ago when I had to have a new battery, then had a snapped spring that ripped the tyre in 2, then a leaky expansion tank, then had to change the egr valve and finally had to change the thermostat. Cant complain really as thats the only money Ive had to spend on it in the 7 1/2 years Ive had it though, just annoying that it all happened one after the other.

My last Vec was an 02 LS. Was a good solid motor, and in many regards had more little toys in it than my current SRi.

The only thing I spotted on it was that the exhaust pipe (sri style) was recessed in the diffuser, almost like it was 6 inches too short...
