Hmmm.
First car - 1979 BMW 735i, inherited from my parents when I was 17 and insurance was not stupidly priced! Amazing car, very quick, especially above 4,000 rpm! Held together by chewing gum and wishful thinking.
Had use of an Austin Montego 1.6 HL for a while. Had a water leak from the water pump, discharging coolant into the front of the alternator, toasting the battery (literally! ) before dying. Talk about mundane!
First car I actually OWNED - 1973 Hillman Imp Super. Fabulous little car! Has not been reshelled and morphed into a 1966 Singer Chamois sprint/hillclimb/track day car with a full-house specification. AWESOME!!! Like a slightly grown up go-kart!
1997 R-plate Omega Elite 3-litre, metallic navy blue with grey full leather. Wonderful, wonderful car - extremely quick too, for a big, heavy automatic. Had EVERY extra possible and the most amazing, smooth ride. If I could find a good one, I'd have one again. Cost me a fortune to run because it went badly wrong so often - head gaskets, tappets, etc., etc. Sounded like a tappety old banger when I part exchanged it (with 176,000 miles on it).
Now - October 2003 Vectra C GSi 3.2 (manual) in mica black (sort of metallic). Bog stock right now. THIS CAR ROCKS!! By far the fastest car I have ever driven. Hard riding, although I don't really mind because it responds so wonderfully to the controls. Bought for towing duties but possibly too nice for that! Fabulous car. Vauxhall sure knows how to build a brilliant car!
Where to go next? Modify the GSi, I feel... 19" wheels... Bilstein suspension...
