    Default Alternator... 100amp vs 120amp?

Well the alternator has finally given up as explained in my other post

I've been doing some research on the internet and it would appear I currently have a 100amp model on my CDTi 1.9 [150] SRi. Some people have been saying 120amp is worth upgrading to. What do you think? Will I notice any different? Does it just quite literally swap with the current one with no need for additional work?

When mine failed, it was a 100amp one that we removed.

On the advice of Vauxhall, and Euro Car Parts, I fitted a 120amp alternator. Just a straight swap, no additional work. Simple

Seems to turnover quicker when starting, and lights a little brighter.

Voltage at idle is about 14.6v.

Have done 15k miles now on the new one with no issues.

    Car is same model as your's - 1.9CDTi SRi 150 (2006)

Did mine a few weeks ago. Seems better on start up.

    Easy job to do yourself!

Default which one did you get?

hi which alternator did you get? did it have two power terminals or three? as not sure about mine it has heated seats, which seems to indicate that it should have abigger alternator but the Stealers tell me it has a 105A.

    cheers

I was advised by a main dealer to upgrade from 105 to 120 amp.

    Better startup and brighter lights
