    Hi mate,
as far as i know airbag lights are not in the mot yet until later this year!! All the garage can do is pass and advise!! Ask them to check appendix B of the testers manual. HTH

What if the light is not there?

A bit naughty but the dash is easy to take out and take apart and a bit of black tape solves the issue of the light staying on...

Yep - new items were advisory only from 1st Jan, but reason for rejection after 1st April. You can view the full testing manual on the Department for Transport's website by the way - http://www.transportoffice.gov.uk/cr...sandguides.htm

Check Section 5.4 - Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS):
Test: Turn on the ignition and check the presence and operation of any Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) malfunction indictor lamp(s) (MIL).
Reason for rejection: A Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) malfunction indicator lamp: · inoperative · indicating a system malfunction
