    Default Changing Plugs, Hot or cold engine?

    As hot things expand, and cold things contract - generally speaking, should you change your plugs when the engine is hot or cold, and does it even make a difference??

    if you try it hot.. wear gloves.. fire-proof ones at that..

    To be honest, I have never given it much thought, so used to draining the oil, then changing the air filter and plugs while the oil is draining, they are usually warm...

    I've changed it both ways, TBH, as long as you/they havent been over tightened them in the past then they should just pop out easily.

    Depends whether they are seized or not. Also if they are sparks or glowplugs

    Chances are, a garage will change them when the engine is hot at service time. Unless it's been left there overnight.

    Shouldn't really matter though as they'll be the same temperature as the engine.

    may i jump in here and ask a quick question glow plug related , how do the leads come of the plugs someone said they just pull off , concerned if i pull ant harder going to damage something cdti 150 .
