Post Realistic running costs of the 2.0T

Am seriously considering the 2.0T now as its got to be cheaper then my st. Im currently getting about 350 on a full tank in the st and Thats about 65 quid super unleaded. What sort of figures are people getting for the 2.0T and how much does it take to fill a tank.

    Cheers guys

ps the cdti was only a refund of 25 quid on the insurance Wtf???

still any of the 888 edition knocking round? Not sure on that front though lol

    Trim : Elite

    Engine : 2.0 CDTI (160ps)

    Year : 2010

The Vectra C has a 61 litre tank on hatchbacks and saloons or a 60 litre on the estate.

I get about 38mpg on a 70mph (ish) cruise, more if I sit at 56mph but round town it's a hell of a lot less.

Normal daily driving of 40 miles a day with two thirds at 50 ish mph on the A10 and the rest stop start in Cambridge and I can get about 400-420 from a tank. Cruise at 56mph and I get about 450-475 I guess.

I don't think a 2.0T will give you much better mpg to be fair. As for insurance on the CDTI,.. it's ridiculous!!... mine has gone up silly amounts, I think due to the popularity of the car and it's heavy use with taxi firms, thus having possibly more accidents than the Focus ST.... and so higher premiums,... again, guilty until proven innocent!!

Hmm i just think that Il save about a grand in buying the car alone compared to the cdti. So how much does it take in£££ to fill the 2.0T up?

Mpg seems about the same as the st which is surprising but if i can get another day or two out the tank then i think it would help alot. Can't take much more then 65 quid surely.

If you put £72 in you will be filling the tank with 55 litres (as you don't normally run dry - and currently near me that's the going price at Shell for unleaded - £1.309).
you will probably get 400 miles to a tank on that as opposed to:
55 litres of Diesel at £75.50 (£1.369) getting 650 to a tank. I still think the diesel is a better buy. 250 miles difference at a cost in petrol of say £45 - £50?..easily recouped £1000 in a few months if you're doing the high mileage you say you are.

60 litre - I regularly put £75 in and the tank size is the same on all Vecs, the Focus is a lot smaller tank

Hmm but the thing is Im only looking till next march really then Il be reverting a petrol as Im sure a diesel wont be necessary. Its a toughie really. I guess the cdti does make sense and i can still keep it after as Il still be commuting. Its just the price of them is alot dearer then the 2.0T

Almost right, as I mentioned earlier, the hatchback and saloons have a 61 litre tank, the estate has a 60 litre tank
