    confused hid's

im looking on fitting some hid's to my preface but theres lots of kits on ebay and lots of different ratings etc,

some normal, some slim fitting, 6000k, 8000k, 15000k ultra white, blue, purple, all sorts.

and iv also read on some that ill loose high beam by fitting them?

basically it would be nice to buy a kit someone has used or is using as id rather fit something i know works and will actually do what im buying it to do. i live in the countryside so im forever driving about at night with full beam on so i cant afford to loose that is the lights are not bright enough..

    any help greatfully recieved ..

    cheers

U want to get color temp no more than 6000k as it gets really blue after that and will cause unwanted attention

Dosnt matter if slim or not but if ya car is a canbus ul need a canbus hid kit scrolls on steering wheel is canbus cars

U won't loose ya high beem as its separate from ya high beem u need a h7 hid kit either 4300k 5000k 6000k they are the best to go for the higher the k the less bright they are

This is the kit I've got fitted in mine (in 50w 6000k) gives a nice pure white colour not blue. Go any higher than 6000k and they start to get very blue in colour.

ian that link is for canbus ones so will they still fit mine or do i need to get the ones that are not canbus?

in fact what does canbus mean? i dont have any scrolls on the steering wheel its a pre face sri with just volume buttons etc as basic on the steering wheel.

the 4300k ones look standard so not sure how much brighter those will be so i think im going to go for the popular 6k ones. are they alot brighter than standard?

All Vectra C's have a Canbus system, the early ones are half-canbus, the later are full-canbus but as far as the headlights are concerned the only thing it affects is the bulb check system.

Your car is the same as mine (half can-bus) so the link I posted above will work fine for yours

Got mine from HIDS4US back in sept 2009. I did have a bulb fail in Jan of this year, but only cost £10 to replace both.

Select "can-bus pro" from the ballst type drop down menu
