Thats South Africa for you
Did it work though?
Yeah, the car was found with the engine running 150 miles away with the finger still selotaped to the fingerprint reader...
Thats an unusual keyring you have there... yep, its a stock brokers finger, I use it to start his car !!
Anyway... does it have to be your finger !!
Or can you choose.... so long as its warm and has a pulse !!
Can it be biometrically read though?
Too much info
They did proove on miffbusters that can can be fooled very easily
I have it on good authority (from someone whos a development engineer for a particular Swedish car company) that biometrics will phased in over the next few years for new cars, and will be used in combination with smart cards and compulsory GPS for insurance (interesting thing is that they propose going away from insurance policies for the car to personal insurance, and this is seen as a way to facilitate this), automatic road charging and presumably automatic speeding fine purposes
iv seen in work that a photocopy of your fingeprint will open a fingerprint door
and it was no cheapo door
soon took it out when it wasnt in there faver we where booking other workers in on overtime rates
couldnt get it out in time for us
back to no clocking in then
by the way the door was top of the line it was a hole parm job to
take your fingerprint off the car as the police to with some tape
then onto some white paper
photo copy it
there you go it all working for
