    Default replacement tyre

after yesterdays fun and games i need some advice, what is meant by second line tyres, because i have been offered a replacement licensed by good year for £77 all in fitted, considering a good year will be approx £120-£140, 215/50/17, even Kuhmo are coming in at £95, and get this Michelin £205. anyone got any thoughts on this?
    all thoughts greatly appreciated

Don't waste your money on Micky Fins, sure they are good tyre's, but an £80 Avon will serve you just as well.

Or the Kuhmos, or my personal favs...Nangkang.

Default there is a santa claus

even better news, went to see tyrefitter person. Nice person informed me that there was no need to change the tyre as it was only superficial, also the fact that he is a private operator made his comments seem all the more genuine, because by saying that he lost out on a sale.
Dont think i would have got the same advice from the big boys, ie, Kwik Fit, ATS or Budget, do you?
So, i know who i will contact when i do replace the boots on my car.

Pit Lane are good, as are Colins tyres, i got 2 Khomo`s from him for £100.00, they aren`t great in the wet though so wouldn`t put them on again. When you go for new ones then best go for 225/45`s as they are mucho cheapo compared to the 215/50`s ..

    Errr NO!

I dont know who you spoke to Skip but that tyre will let go under stress with that split in it, if your lucky it will be at low speed, but imagine going round a m-way bank at 70 mph and it goes, fronts gonna dig in and send you into the wall, if it's a rear you'll be in a spin.

    Get it off bud.

word of warning, just blown the sidewalls in two goodyears by lightly catching some small-medium stones in the country lanes near me, save your money for something better, my fav is Mich Pilot Primacy quite dear but I buy from Cosco at £120 each and they grip like mad & the sidewalls are solid when pushed in with your thumb unlike the bad years.
