    Default Gsi induction noise

Just a quick one. Will a k and n panel filter give any more induction noise on a standard Gsi?

I have just ordered this off ebay for mine and already have a powerflow exhaust system thats fairly noisy and i was told the K&N would also add to the sound.

the k &n pannel doesnt give much induction noise tbh but if you go down the induction kit make sure you do what bigwilks do and buy the proper one for the car as pandys 3.2 lost about 30bhp with the wrong cone on at rs tunings rolling road when they removed it his bhp was really good

enclosed inductions kits wont give any more sound and debatabtle to give power gains, yet to be proven.

open induction kits sound awsome and do give good power gains (5-8bhp) under the right circumstances, throw some static heat and humidity in it though and the suffer from heat soak and sap throttle response majorly until moving and flowing air forces the heat out of engine bay.

i am currently using k&n panel filter, but have drilled some holes in the bottom of the airbox, i personally feel this is the best compromise for me, did get some gain est. 3-4bhp still sounds great because of the holes but suffer from no heat soak. +++ i like the oem look in the engine bay.

    its just your preference...

I'm personally running a K&N Apollo pod filter, that is sucking air directly from the stock snorkel intake at the grille.
Heres the sound with only the pod filter and stock exhaust.

Sounds better with a remus exhaust paired to it

I am currently running a Pipercross Viper closed induction kit, not sure if i see any gains but you get a lovely induction noise from it.
