When it comes to leather , the purer the product the better , funnily enough i was having this conversation last night with one of the top upholsters in the country and what they use to clean leather is pears soap in a warm water solution .
This cleans the leather without leaving any residue , as for replaceing the oils in leather then there is a pretty wide and varied choice , i prefer to use a leather balsam which is a cream which can be lightly applied to leather with a soft cloth Lord Sheraton is the one i use which can usually be found on supermarket shelves .
I am sure others will be along with other suggestion,s , or if you want any more info have a look at detailingworlds section on leather detailing

If you can get hold of one of those hand held steam cleaners they do a superb job. No chemicals, just clean steam, the steam gets right into the grain and lifts everything away. Check out DW and Youtube.

I always use Gliptone on mine. Cleaner first followed by the balm which smells fantastic, people often comment if my car is new as it smells of leather all the time.
