    Default EGR and DPF removal

OK so my 2006 1.9cdti vectra seems to be throwing up egr warning lights constantly, and smoking more and more. around 40k on the clock, Ive cleaned the EGR but still not much better, so i'm a bit stuck on what i should do.

is it worth blocking the egr and getting MAS to do dpf removal pipe and the 2oobhp remap and removal of the above from the ecu.

    OR

get new egr valve and dpf. Knowing that it will start to smoke again.

    Thanks Rory

I'm not having any problems with my Vectra (yet), but i've been thinking the same thing. I'm now tempted to just get the EGR blanked and mapped out first and wait until DPF is required and then make the decision. It's probably the EGR that causes DPF's to get blocked up anyway, although I'm sure there's someone more technical on here who knows more about DPF's than me.

Take a look at my Thread guys, I went to MAS for the exact same thing and the Rolling Road printouts are on there too. 195.6BHP Thats near enough 200 for me

had my dpf removed (without removing you cannot blank egr).

it improved all round but then free flowing gases put more pressure on system and doing a few related parts to fail due to increased pressure and heat

I have drilled 4 12mm holes down my DPF, the sensors still see a back pressure and you get all the extra umph!

    CAT removed too.

Oh and its all ok for the MOT
