Hi hope someone will be able to shed some light on this problem that ive had for over 6 months.
My car is 2006 model on a 55 plate (facelift model).
I've had the car for about a year and a half, the car was fine for the first 12 months then the problems started.
It started with the car & spanner light coming on. When i would start the car in the morning the spanner light would come on until the car was warm and then go off and no problems. But then it started coming on while i was driving sometimes and then go back off. Took it to my local garage and the mechanic removed and cleaned the EGR valve.
A few weeks later my car would start smoking (blue smoke) and the fuel consuption would drop from 45 mpg to 15 mpg and the car and spanner light would come on. So i got the car down to a vauxhall dealer and onto the tech 2. They advised me it was my inlet manifold that was causing the problems. So i bought an inlet manifold aswell as an actuator switch from vauxhall and had my mechanic fit them. The car was fine for a day or 2 and then BOOM my turbo blows =(. So got a new turbo from vauxhall and got it fitted. A few days after same problem as before, smoking and the fuel consumption dropping to like 15 mpg. Was advised by a mechanic that it could be 1 of the injectors that was faulty and spraying too much diesel which was causing the smoke. So got all 4 removed and reconned from bosch. When i got the injectors fitted and from the mechanic i thought id take the car for a drive to see if there was any change. Started smoking again and could smell diesel very strongley coming through the heaters. Opened the bonnet to see diesel all around the injectors and also around the inlet manifold. Mechanic had a look round and found the cause of the leak which was 1 of the rubber pipes that go over the injectors. Got pipe from vauxhall and got it fitted. When i got my car back i thought my problems were over. Drove the car for a week now and the car and spanner light have come on again, fuel consuption going down to 10 mpg and smoking again. I have changed everything that would normally fix this problem accept 1 thing which is the egr valve. Could someone please help. What are the symptoms for a faulty EGR? I've spend over 2k in the last 6 months and the problem is still there. Have'nt worked as im a taxi driver. Im at that point were i just want to put a match to it =) lol.
