Default TID Clock not keeping time ? and other related issues

    Hi All

My Vectra C came with a smashed TID
I replaced this yesterday, now i have a couple of issues..

1.the clock wont stay the right time
2.the date goes off when you turn the key

Info below that may help you answer ....

The car came with no radio...i have no idea if i should have mpg/miles left etc on there also ?? (LS 1.8 model 2003)

I fitted my pioneer cd player (i switched two cables around to make it work)

The steering wheel also has radio switches

    I hope you can help
    Many Thanks
    Chris

Hi Chris, welcome to Vec C.
Your TID has 2 buttons on it?? Just making sure it is a TID and not a GID.

The time and date is normally obtained from the FM signal when a Vauxhall radio is fitted.
It wont pick up the time signal from an after market radio.

If you want the On Board Computer (BC) (Fuel Consumption, etc) to work you need to replace the TID with a GID.
It is a very popular mod on here, but you need to be a full member (ie, pay) to see the How 2's section.

Does your buttons on the steering wheel work with the radio??

Hi Thanks for the reply and the Welcome !
I little gutted that i have replaced the screen and cant even use the clock (temp works ok)
Yes its the TID (2 button)

The steering wheel controls do not work with the pioneer but i'm led to believe there's a cable for this on ebay but i'm not too bothered about that that now

The time/date could be changing due to the battery voltage dropping when cranking the engine, maybe the battery is past its best or maybe too small for a DTi.

You mean that the time is 0:00 and the date is back in 2003/04 everytime you switch the car on at the ignition??

The time would stay the same as it was when i pulled the ignition key, i was told to hold both buttons to reset the screen and all is good now :-)
Only issue i have is the date display on the lower half disappears when i start the car and only comes back on when i remove the key....i have been told there is a wire to cut on the back of the screens loom, any ideas which one?
