Default Issue with replacing broken heater control

    Signum Heating Controls.jpg

As you can see the main heater control on my Signum has broken off - no idea why

The Vauxhall option is a new control unit at £120+ - so I ordered one off eBay (which is another story).

Now I have it I find that the knob does not seem to detach from the unit (I guess it is not intended to!) so my only option is to replace the unit.

Anyone know how to remove the existing control unit?

..... or a magic way to remove the one knob I need and refit it?

The other two post give suggestions for removing the whole unit - yours suggests you have managed to remove just the buttons and knobs - is that right??

You cant remove the dials without damaging them. You need to pop out the whole unit. Slide a thin flat head screwdriver down the sides and gently expand the console... the heater panel is a snug fit and will be tough to wiggle out but once loose it will just slide out. Then simply disconnect the looms at the back and slide the new unit in its place.... but try it first, make sure it all works fine.
