Default Estate Rear brake light fault?

    Hi Guys

Just a quick request, any of you fine fellows ever had a fault as below on a 2007 Est Vec or similar.

Got a warning on the dash of a brake light bulb, noticed the the rear outer, off side bulb wasnt working also the near side inner brake bulb, spent a little while replacing the off side bulb and then noticed the other came back to life. I naturally thought, result!. however since then i have replaced both bulbs, twice now and cant seem to clear the fault. the wiring hasnt been played with, only other than to change the bulbs, and they still dont work!

    Any ideas guys?

    thanks

Mine did exactly the same, chased my tail with it for ages until I realised it was the bulb holders were corroded just where the bulbs touched them. Cleaning it up didn't work, I ended up jamming a piece of metal slightly wider than the corrosion in between the bulb and the holder so it connects with non-corroded metal and the problem went away.

You can buy the bulb holder sections seperately I believe, I've just not got round to replacing mine as the error's gone since I did the above.

If one fail, other light will act of 2 roles. Normally one on tailgate is sidelight, on side is sidelight and brake light in one. If one fails then either side overtakes the role.
