Default Replaced Air Con Condenser but can't charge system

My air con hasn't worked since I bought my 08 CDTI in February (serves me right for not checking - well it was winter ).

I recently took it to an air con specialist who tested the system and found the condenser to be leaking. He said he had it up and running but due to the leaks, he would have to drain it down and gave me a quote for £370

I decided to follow the HOW2 on the condenser and purchased one from ebay for £70 and new seals from Vauxhall for £11 and fitted in just over an hour - bargain.

Took it to Kwik Fit to have it re-gassed and after 45 minutes of trying, he said it not taking it in properly. It gets to around 200 (ml?) and then fails. He said it should take over 600 (ml?).

Any ideas what might be wrong? I think I'll take it back to the original air con place to get it filled and see what he says but would be good to go there with some idea of whats going on.

    Any ideas?

Was a brand new rad. Can't understand how he managed to get it working before I changed the condenser and then after condenser, it is blocked. Surely the condenser can't be blocked being brand new? Could it be the drier (whatever that does)?

Had mine re-gassed at work a couple of weeks ago post compressor swap. My mate here had the same problem, and had to fully drain down / vacum again, then it went in OK. 720 grams if I remember correctly ( it's on the data plate under the bonnet )

Thanks mate. Maybe it was just a 'Kwik Fit' thing (if you catch my drift). Dropping it off to air con place tomorrow so will soon find out.
