    Do they have a generic map stored on for each different engine type and when plugged and selected it then can be only used for that vehicle?

    Onced plugged into a car then the generic map is paired to the car ...so it cannot be used for another .
    I do believe BSR and maybe bluefin were going to charge for them to be unpaired then used on your new car ..maybe wrong ?

    well i installed mine this morning once its been activated with your details on the car it cant be used on anyone elses. i guess that if you was to sell the car and buy another they could reset it but i aint sure on that

    They can reset it, but charge around £150-£200 ...
