I'm getting lost you have an aux in as standard but not activated and firmware is 2007 but you might still not have it
    No...

I have no aux in port in the cabin and no option to select one on the CD70. I am asking what is needed to get a working aux in to connect the music half of a bluetooth car kit to. The phone calls route through the stereo (cd70 jumps to "External In" when a call is received). But music.... nothing.

Activating aux in won't fix that as its unrelated but maybe you Motorola not been installed properly as there should be a plug on ISO for all that to cut in as external in

Thanks for the info but I am struggling to see how its unrelated. Are you saying that because the calls are already coming through the CD70, then it must already have some sort of working aux input and as such, the motorola must be wired wrong?

Take a look at the manual here:

    http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/...605_UK_UG_.pdf

I saw in there somewhere that for music to play back, the car stereo has to have the right input selected, in this case, the external in. If this is the case then i think having the option enabled so I can manually select the external in will allow music playback.

What I get is calls makes the CD70 jump to external in, but when I play music, the CD70 does nothing and stays playing the radio/cd etc... The external input does not cut in for music, even though the motorola is detecting music being played.

I think who ever has installed this has not connected the mute for the music mate and the cd70 aux is honestly unrelated believe me

I hope it is that simple. Looking at the manual though, I see nothing about mute cables for the music.

Need to get the dash off then to see how everythings been done.

Could you confirm however.... Aux in or no Aux in by default, that a Parrot Mki9200 will work with music?

Parrot uses external in which is just a mute connection and it is the parrot which plays the music through the car speakers
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services
