Default What to replace focus st with if i can sell it lol

Hi guys. I was all set on chopping my st in for a vxr vectra but Im not moving work closer until at least march next year at the very earliest. Now i do love my st but the fact Im spending 100-120 quid a week on fuel is killing me. I know they drink so wasnt a problem but i bought the car under the false pretence i would be getting a job close to home but it now turns out its definitely not happening till next year. I still have a thing for the vectra (Mrs hates them but sod her) lol. Im looking at 2.0t and 1,9cdti like the one i had before but the problem is i have 2k of finance on my st so need to factor that in somewhere. What sort of returns would the 2.0t get? ? Is it going to be much cheaper then the st?? I did like my 1.9cdti but just not sure i can go bk to a diesel. What about a 3.0v6cdti?? Cheers guys

I say hang in there and get an Astra-J VXR.

Or, to answer your question, yes the 2.0T Vectra will be better on fuel than the ST - it has less power as standard and is a 4 cylinder not a fiver.

1.9CDTi with remap is a good compramise....I find. 40-55mpg with ease and decent enough amount of power and torque....not ST/VXR power I know but far cheaper on fuel which is quite important in the current climate....not that I can see it ever improving.

No way... No offence to signum owners but seriously Wheres the rear end gone lol. Getting an astra vxr is not going to save me money lol. Il be back to a fast car once Ive moved jobs and saved some dosh for a house. Im doing nearly 60miles a day and at 30mpg its not working out too good at the moment.

Doing 60 miles a day I'd only consider a diesel. To be honest though, I wouldn't have another 1.9CDTi, I don't trust them.

To be fair my 1.9 was sound never had an issue with it. Its not like i can't afford the st but its leaving us with no money spare to save. Paying nearly a grand a month for rent Dont help either lol.

Very nice, but is a little high, I recently paid £7750 for a 58 plate with only 30k miles on. Id say £6000 to £6200 for that, but then I have noticed prices on Vecs rising over the last few months. XP2 stunning car tho fella and simple to make look like a VXR

Just to add, Evans Halshaw were selling 09 plate 150 CDTIs with satnav at 25k miles only 4 months ago for £6800!!!
