    Default Squeaky tailgate lifters

Recently, practically each time I open the tailgate, the lifters give a bit of a squeak. They seem to be lifting okay, I think it's maybe just some lack of oil/lubrication where the rubber seal meets the strut.

What can I rub/squirt on there to lubricate it. I assumed that something like WD40 would be a no-no as it's likely to strip any lubrication. What's the best thing - bit of grease?, a very light oil? (that's what I was thinking it would be). If so, which one?

    Ta muchly

I would think a silicone spray would do the job ...

Cheers guys - all sorted. Had a can in the garage and gave them a squirt. No more squeaky and tailgate also lifts a bit more smoothly and quickly.
