    Default Super Unleaded

I have for the first time filled up with tesco 99 octane fuel.
Well the tank still had one quarter left of normal unleaded.
I cannot to be honest notice any difference.
Is it best to carry on with 99 octane fuel or go back to normal.
My car is a 04 gsi.
I only tried as the price of petrol has dropped a little.

What engine do you have? If you have a tuned engine its best to use high octane fuel. I get more horses and mpg from high octane petrol. But I do ru. A tuned engine, my wifes standard 1.8 is run on normal unleaded.

Its the 3.2 v6 gsi, standard apart from k&n panel filter and airbox mod.
If I cant notice any change the extra cost isnt worth it.
Does it take a few tanks to adjust?

two tanks mate to adjust properly. BP ultimate is the best ( and no i don't work for them) its worth it in the long run because you can push the motor harder with less fear of it going pop over standard fuel. all z engines should run on it in my( opinion ). even engines like the x30 omega mv6 which had sodium valves should run on super.

Shell VPower is the best. (Tesco's Momentum 99)
    My VVT loves it!
Mind you she is chipped, and I was advised to run her on it.

personally i dont bother with "high" octane fuels. Its only 99 octane vs 95 or 98. Theres absolutely nothing in it except for you pay more for the 99! I saw no extra miles per tank or noticeable power, its probably only gaining you 2-3hp.
I have a 1949 Morris Oxford which owners manual for states the engine runs on 110 octane petroleum! that was presumably the norm back then but cant get fuel rated that high anymore, wouldnt mind trying some if i could get my hands on it though!

If you have a car mapped you should use high octane fuel as standard unleaded will reduce tue spark advance witch in turn will cause power loss
