Default dpf removal, not the usual question

it appears the new problem for me is the dpf is blocked, i guess with all the bad running and trying to start it i have blocked it.

is it possible to by the bypass pipe thing to fit at home or is it possible to remove the dpf at home and then smash the insides out?

how hard a job is it?

When my dad's car was playing up, the mechanic offered to cut it open and strip the insides out and then re-seal.

If someone has Tech2 or type software they can do a manual/forced regen that will bring it low enough to do a proper/normal regen.

As i understand it, if you can get room to work under the car, then it's three bolts and a clamp, along with a hose or two and it's out. You can then use a long drill and smash the guts out of it. Don't forget, that until you have the regen software mapped out, if it does regen the smoke screen it will then create has to be seen to be believed.

    ok thank you.

i know it wont be perfect without the remap but as it stands i cant drive it anywhere to remap it even.

plus there is nothing to lose by taking the insides out as i understand it. the smoke it would create would jsut be unburned diesel i guess as it tries to do a regen?

the plan is o get it mapped with the egr and dpf deleted but as it stands i cant drive it so those options arent open to me

    will do.

i am not 100% certain this is the issue but it seems a likely culprit imo.

I was in the garage to collect my car today and saw a DPF being drilled out of a 5-Series BMW. Cat was cut open and the insides were also being cleaned out!!
