    Default HIDS Direct - Sidelights

Recently fitted HIDS, and now looking to change the sidelight bulds.

Has anybody tried these error free LED sidelights from HIDS Direct and do they work??

Never tried these, no doubt someone will chime in who has.

    BUT

I got 2 sets of 2 MTEC 501 sidelight bulbs for £9.98 delivered, look sweet as a nut, pure white, one set for the back number plate, one for the sidelights.

The error free will just stop the bulb failure warning message/light. Chances are, like all LEDs fitted to the exterior lighting on a Vectra/Signum, they'll flash on and off a few times when the bulb warning does its checks.

I've got those led error free side light bulbs in mine from hid's direct... They strobe when the cars turned off and when driving without the lights switched on... You get an error for parking light bulb appear on the display periodically, but putting this to one side . I like em..

i bought 5000k hids and these gorgeous things:

    http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/501-err...h-power-bulbs/

    which i run with these:

    http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/xtec-ob...w-t10-5w-leds/

however, I want to do the same mod that LeeMarkSmith has done to his and run a live cable through from the dash to the sidelights so as to stop the flashing. Im wondering if the same thing can be done for the licence plate lights at the back? hmmmm?

Why not just tap off a couple of flying leads and hide the original sidelights in the engine bay somewhere. That way they're still connected and might fool the bulb warning into not strobing the LEDs.

Alternately would fitting a relay solve the strobing problem.

I used this method for ultra white led courtesy lights, worked a treat.
