    Default 2.2 direct misfire

i have 56 Signum with the 2.2 direct engine. on the way home from birmingham this afternoon the car started to feel a bit flat before eventually the car started to slow even under full throttle. Limp home mode activates so i pull it over. it ran fine on idle, but was misfiring all the way up to 3k. **** about with it for a few minutes making sure everything is connected, turn it off and the Limp home mode goes away.

Pull off and it starts misfiring horrifically, resulting in no power at all. was misfiring on idle too. get it home and read the codes and it throws up a p0302 - misfire on cylinder 2. leave the car for 5 mins, start it up and its smooth as you like on idle, will rev upto 4 with no issues, but as soon as its under load it misfires.

reading through the threads i see that the general concensus on these is HPFP, but this was replaced not long ago under waaranty and is a CONTINENTAL. not Siemens. FPR was done at the same time also.

so, ideas? Coilpack? sparkies? swirl flaps? voodoo?

i'm a diesel head myself, so this petrol malarky is all voodoo to me..

If it was the fueling i.e HPFP FPR it would throw up the p0191 (I think lol) code and not a misfire fault code....I suggest maybe coilpack/plugs......take plugs out clean up and stick back in.

How about swapping coil pack with another one and seeing if the same fault occurs on the cylinder with the suspect coil-pack now on it?
