    Default CD70 into prefacelift Halfcan

    Hi guys,

I have a prefacelift halfcan and Im looking at buying a CD70 kit (headunit and cid) off the bay of e and they are from 2005+ all incl. relevent wires for plug and play (for facelift fullcan obv.)

Is there any wiring diagrams/pictures I can follow?
Can the facelift vent be modded to fit the pre/fl? If not what other options is there?

Im not bothered about steering wheel controls but might add this later if not too much hassle/wiring etc.

    Thanks For any help

    Jim

P.s I have read the how 2 and done lots of searching but not found anything definitive as to just a straigh forward conversion, most threads want to interchange headunits and screens.

    Right from what ive read:

The vent just needs the top trimming down by 3mm to fit.

The wiring for the quadlaock is the same but the screen plug needs 2 wires adding (taken from the how 2):

Pins 1 and 2 need to have brown - earth wires present
Pins 3 and 5 need to have red +ve 12 Volt wires present
Some display plugs may have only 1 brown and 1 red.
If you only have one brown then link pin 1 to 2..
also if you have just one red then link pin 3 to 5.

    Have I missed anything?

    thanks

    Jim

If you half Half-CAN, then you will currently half an ISO socket on the rear of the head-unit.
You will need to use an ISO2CAR or SOT122S conversion lead to convert from ISO to Quadlock.

You only need to modify the vent surround, if you are fitting a wide screen colour display.
Standard width displays will fit the pre-facelift surround.

    What else ?

Do not forget to link your head-unit to the display (mid speed CAN wires).
EHU pin 9 to CID pin 20 (MS CAN High - Green)
EHU pin 10 to CID pin 19 (MS CAN Low - White)

If you have climate control, then these wires need moving
Display pin 20 move to display pin 17 - green
Display pin 19 move to display pin 18 - white

You will need an aerial adapter for the radio. (ISO / Din to Fakra) - white socket on the back

Satnav aerial goes to the blue socket in the corner.

    Yes - both will fit.

The bonus of the SOT lead, is that it is fully populated, so you are able to modify the adapter loom wires so that you can add telemute or telephone wires for a bluetooth kit etc.

Full set of pictures and pdf's sent via e-mail for retro fitting a CD70 and Display.
