Meeee I just started to get fit last year lasted couple months lol now a 500 pound bike just sitting there screaming for me lol
I used to do a lot of biking in the peak district and always off road.
Great dirty fun that keeps you fit and has evolved hell of a lot since I last did it properly (About 15 years ago I stopped doing that to surf instead)
There are loads of sites to choose offroad treks to go on. I see a couple of guys walking their bikes up Snowdon to bike back down....now thats mental!
Yeah mate I do mountain biking got a cross country bike about 1000 quid of bike and a downhill bike about 1500 with New parts lol, I go all over not ad much since bairn was born but great fun but dangerous if serious lol
Yep whole family does a bit, but not enough or as much as we would like.
We only do it as a bit of fun.
I had great fun last year spraying my old bike up and adding stickers, made a cheapish old bike look like the dogs (from a short distance) Wife tells me about a mile away
We tend to do the same as Wolflinn these days pack the bikes up and couple of rucksacks and go out with the kids all day with them laughing at my "old mans" seat that has a little air pump for inflating the seat. They don't laugh when we get home after a day out on them :-)
hi buddy i had the same thoughts as you and many others got me a halfords special to go over cannock chase was ok for the beginners routes but dam hard work and not enjoyable for the more demanding ones, bike too heavy, gearing all wrong, n genrally not right bike for the job. leisure lakes or decathlon do some great bikes depending on your budget and bikerader is a good site to go on too as its country wide you may find some good trails near to you on the forum on there hth buddy

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ and eBay for all the bits to build a suitable toy.
Have been on & more often off bikes (have been riding for years, but still no real ability has shown itself )

Built this one only from eBay for about £500, am getting an Ragley Piglet towards the end of the year http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=62608
I started riding again last weekend. I've bought a 2012 Cube Acid and so far have covered about 20 miles. I'm loving it!!
It's going to be an expensive hobby though, as on top of the price of the bike, I've already spent £50 on pedals and the same again on a helmet!..
