Question Phone mute - Auto window up Project?

    Morning all.

I have a Nokia Car kit and a Parrot installed for Personal and Work calls. My radio does not have a 'tel-mute' input. Thats not a problem on the Parrot as it cuts the audio it's self. The Nokia CARK on the other hand, I need to close the windows manually and turn the radio off.

I was wondering if I could use the Nokia's tel-mute output to switch a relay that winds up the front windows when a call comes in?. I know the power cuts automaticly when the windows are fully wound up (long press on the up button on the door). Can a feed be used from this circut?. I'm not sure how to get around the problem of stopping the power to the window motor once there wound up, despite power still coming in from the CARK....

    Any ideas?

I've had both a Parrot and CARK-91 and both worked the same way - muted stereo (or turned it on) and played their audio out through it, so there was no need to manually turn the radio off or close the windows. Is the latter necessary because you can't hear the CARK-91 with them open?

Does your CARK-91 use the stereo for audio output or it's own speaker?
What stereo is it you have that doesn't have a mute function?

It's the CD30. No pin/wire in the loom for tel-mute.

The CARK-91 has it's own speaker and I just prefer the windows up for clarity to the caller (to hear me), although I can hear them fine if a window is down as the speaker is mounted in the roof console.

OK, I get what you are wanting to do. I thought all factory radios had telemute but there you go...

Someone will be along soon who knows how you could do what you want - if it's possible.

Yea, same here. It was on the wiring diagram on the sticker on the unit, but checked and double checked the block connector, no pin where it should have been. Odd....

Might be worth a search on here and a Google. Seems that there are people who have already found the same problem, e.g. here. It looks like first thing is to temporarily make the connection to see if the mute functionality is there and then - if it is - work out how to make a permanent connection.

Cheers James, I'll try that the next time the dash is apart. I thought the tel-mute was looking for a 12v+ feed to mute and not a ground?.

Would I be right at assume that the 'tel-mute' on the CD30 wouldn't by pass the Parrot's use of the speakers that are switched internaly during a call?.

I'd still like to have the windows linked to the Nokia CARK if it can be done, if anyone has any ideas.

Which version of the Parrot do you have becuase I thought most will now support 2 phones with a firmware upgrade apart from the CK3100 which I bet is the one you have

Spot on merikiito. When I got it (CK3100) I didn't care about the whole MP3 thing, a choice I'm now regretting. How ever the volunteer/work I do is literally a matter of life and death. So much so I wanted a separate, independent (non Bluetooth) hands free, a bomb proof, old skool Nokia and even..... *brace your self* a gound plane body mount roof antenna.

See where you are coming from regarding the bomb proof Nokia

Not sure how you can sort the windows closing. I think that when you push the switch it does not cut the voltage when its up but the clutch disingages and the voltage is still there. The voltage only cuts when you release the switch. I could be completely wrong and hopefully I am
