The cheap and easy answer is no. It could theoretically be done but would require lots of time and money.

The stereos with 4 numbers in their model name are earlier ones for earlier partial/half-CAN cars (all buttons on steering wheel). Later stereos with 2 numbers in their model name are for later full-CAN cars (buttons and wheels on steering wheel).

The easiest thing is to swap for another unit with 4 numbers in it's model name. Make sure it's de-coded or you get the passcode with it. Have a look in your audio manual and see which model you fancy as it covers all of them.

People on here can then advise of any issues with fitting any of them. Remember there are other things to consider such as the model of screen fitted...

Your 2005 car may well be a full can car. Do you have buttons or scrolly wheels on the steering wheel?

If he had the cdr2005 its half can bus , all that would be needed to get the stereo to work without steering controls is a conversion loom to be made up to go from iso to quadlock and the change a few wires around in the display plug. Check out one of my old threads.

Afraid not because I've still got my original one . Plenty of people around here have replaced theirs though and should be able to give you some ideas. Also take a look in the relevant section of the forum...
