    Default Teenage insurance

My stepson has passed his test this morning and I have been looking at insurance for him for a 1.2 Corsa (the car of his dreams apparently) and the best I have is £4k

Has anyone tried to explain to a nurotic teenager that they just cant afford to pay the monthly payments let alone the full premium

There is an insurance company that put a tracker black box I think and they monitor and curfew you at 11 pm , your insurance decreases if you drive sensible enough

That was Co-Op they quoted £4.5k and that was with the tracker box fitted.

have you tried naming a middle aged woman as named driver.
Mum is on my insurance as a named driver, and it halved my premium, she went on as she borrowed mine when her car was in for a repair, so added her and she has been there since.

I hope your insurence company dosnt see this thread. Named driver is the one who uses it the most, alls well untill theres a claim, I am a bit old school, looks like he's going to have to wait a few years before he can afford his first car.

Get a car not normally driven by a young driver. Look at Saabs, Volvos, Ladas, skodas and anything classic

Try this site: http://www.tiger.co.uk/ also might Bedworth a shout these if he's a student too?! http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/Pages/Home.aspx

Also have you tried a quote on a diesel corsa as well? Or a 1.0?!

I found that depending on which comparison site I was on to quotes differed according to my occupation as my time was pratically divided 50/50 student/part time job so had to alter this.

complete rubbish what you have written. Main Driver is the main driver who uses it most. I.E Me. A named driver is anyone else who is named on the insurance.

Dont be unemployed, or a student, that on average multiplies a policy premium by 2
