Default Turbo fixed but terrible service

Had the turbo fixed whilst I have been working away and it appears they did a good job.

However they did the work without my consent, never confirmed the price and despite me telling them I wanted the turbo back they have done an exchange on a new unit leaving me with £120 service kit which I was going to use rebuilding the old turbo.

But the bit that really gets me is the car was returned to me (the gf collected it) and it was caked in 3 weeks of bird **** tree sap and leaves and I even had to clean out the drainaway under the bonnet.

I have spoken to the garage and the owner refused to speak to me and let the receptionist deal with me. After spending £881 to have your car fixed I expected to be treated a lot better than I have.

I know there is nothing I can do and his attitude is the works been done, gf has paid for it now **** off.

I aksed for the gurantee for the new turbo and apparantly the paperwork has been lost and he'll get a copy when he is not so ******* busy was the words he shouted through the door!

Apart from wanting to strangle him the poor woman on reception looked like she was going to cry so I bit my tounge.

Is there anything I can do?......legally lol

Im sure that there is something that you can do if they have changed something on the car that you have not consented too.. However now that you have paid that may be seen as consent so now not valid..

Sound like a right bunch of *******

I guess the moral is, collect your car yourself then you can challenge this stuff at the time. ie don't pay until you are happy. Sorry this happened to you though.

I have had another phonecall with the garage and I said my bit and I think the garage feels thats the end of it

Their reply to the state of my car was that "I was lucky they had not charged me storage as they normally do"

The turbo is not available as they exchanged it for the new one

The gurantee is only for a year. I said I chose a new unit as the turbo was guranteed for 2 years and a recon one for a year. They replied no its a year. I said you recommended I get a new one because of the extended warranty! I could have had a recon for half the price of a new one.

I said I was very upset with the service and their attitude and they basically said they have a loyal customer base and they get plenty of work and when I said I would not use them again she said its your choice but they have plenty of work without needing my custom

To say I'm disgruntled is an understatement

The garage is Page Garage in Strumpshaw

Ring them every now and then and book a car in for work and don't go. False name and address

Also call trading standards as they are not allowed to work without your consent.

Hard to prove either way now isnt it?.. problem is they already have your money and they were not paid 'under protest'.

I was not going to collect the car until I got home but they kept phoning me at work so got the gf to collect it.

Realistically there is nothing I can do but really "£$%^& me off with their attitude
