Question Gearbox and driveshaft broken :(

Hi all, appologies for posing in the wrong place, i think, have no idea how to use the new look website yet and havent been on for a while.

3 weeks ago, on my way to manchester airport, my driveshaft smashed the cup that it sits in inside the gearbox (same with saabs apparently) and has subsiquenly smashed the inside casing of the gearbox up.

i got home off holliday a week last sunday. i found out last friday it was the gearbox.

now i am having problems getting hold of a gearbox...because apparently, my f17 gearbox is the one that always breaks. but i can have one off an old vectra b with a small ammount of modding, which i dont want to risk.

I cannot afford brand new, so i wanna do it as cheap as possible so i can get the car working and then sell the old gal.

So my question is, what gearboxes can i stick in apart from r15101185, alsoi dont want a corsa gearbox because i do not want to be limited to 80mph, screaming the nuts of it at 70 with it possibly breaking again (do a lot of motorway miles)

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Sean
