Default 2003 GSI Progress - 11 months on

I thought i would start a thread showing the progress of my Vectra C GSI in the last 10 months of ownership.

I purchased the car on the 30th June with 56k, FSH, new clutch, timing belt and service.

It was exactly what i was looking for, low mileage, FSH & good standard spec with the potential to turn into something that i could add my own touch to and aim for OEM+ look.

Some pics of the car when i collected it:

I first set about giving it a full machine polish and wax as the paint was dull. I replaced the number plates as the front one was cracked, chrome indicator bulbs and MTEC sidelight bulbs. Debadged the tailgate and replaced the griffin badge.

I then fitted a Irmscher Aluminium Top Grill, Signum foglight covers, a new chrome tailgate trim, painted the calipers silver and refurbed the headlights.

Over the coming months i concentrated on mechanically making the car sound. I carried out the following work:

    Full GM Service
    Pads & Discs all round
    new rear calipers
    blake fluid change
    colant change
    CAT back stainless exhaust
new flexi front Pipe / CAT
    new pre-CAT's

As winter months were fast approaching i gave the car a good clean and a couple of coats of wax to protect. Fitted my new number plate, Irmscher plate holders, LED bulbs, Wind deflectors, VXR exhaust insert & tinted tail lights:

Over the winter i had purchased a few parts ready to make a good start in the New Year:

And then fitted the new headlights, chrome mirrors and handles

Quickly followed by Irmscher door pins, insignia pedal covers, stainless foot rest plate. Lowered on Bilstein B4's Shocks & -40mm H&R Springs, new strut top mounts & bearings along with front & rear Polybush ARB's and Saab uprated drop links.

The time had finally come to put the car into Kinghorn bodyshop on Sat 24th March and didn't get it back until 7th April. The following work was carried out,

    Front bumper paint
Front Irmscher splitter painted and fitted to front bumper
irmscher side skirts paint & fit
    Rear bumper paint
VXR rear lower bumper skirt paint and fit to bumper
Paint and fit VXR tailgate spoiler
Both rear arches strip back, paint and stone chip protection (starting to slightly bubble so catching them early)
Remove a couple of little dinks (PPR)

First pics of it once out the Bodyshop:

Then nicely topped off with a brand new set of 18" Irmscher Evo Stars & Tyres:

That takes me to where i am today and just had the rear windows tinted a dark smoke, fitted a Pipercross Viper Induction Kit and a set of Irmscher interior mats.

Future plans is now to move onto the interior and fit VXR full leather interior, Irmscher steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake & Double Din head unit.

I hope you like and any comments good or bad welcome.
