Default Spark Plug & Sump Plug Torque setting - Z18XE Engine

Could someone please tell me if 28Nm and 20Nm respectively are the correct settings for these items fitted to a Vectra 1.8 Life. I think they are but am not certain.

Can someone recommend a reasonably price torque-wrench to cover this low torque. I have a large, up to 210Nm, ½" drive one but the minimum torque is too high.

    Thanks.

Can anybody help with this query? I've since, on an Astra forum, seen a GM list of torque settings for the Z18XE engine that gives 45Nm as the torque for the sump plug. This seem quite tight. Elsewhere, I've read that 45Nm applies to a hex. headed plug but a Torx headed plug has a torque of 14Nm. Conversely, this seem somewhat loose.

Assuming that there is only one type of sump, I would have thought that the plug would have the same torque irrespective of its head form, as the sump material and plug thread would be the same for both.

    I'm getting really confused!

Info I have (from Autodata) is that the sump plug is 14 Nm, and the spark plugs are 25 Nm.

Personally though, I don't bother with torque settings for things like this. Finger tight, then nipped up is usually suffient for the sump plug, and approx ½ a turn after finger tight for new spark plugs, or ¼ for used plugs.

I asked this question a couple of months back, 27nm for spark plugs, and 25nm for the sump plug was what I was given.

As above a nip after hand right is enough.

And it's defiantly what I'd be doing in your shoes not worth buying a torque wrench especially for it

Thanks for the advice. I'll do as suggested and just nip them up after tightening them by hand. I think I've worked out why there is such a difference between the hex. headed sump plug torque figure and that for the Torx headed one; the hex. head plug uses a copper washer whereas the Torx head plug uses a rubber 'O' ring.
