Default Signum 2.2 petrol engine fault

Hi firstly apologies if this has already been coverd but I'm very new to forums

Today yes Today I picked up my new 2004 signum elite brought it home no problem. However I went out at 4pm this afternoon and the car/spanner sign came on and the engine cut out. I restarted the engine it struggled and the light remained on but I was able to drive away, there was no power it would only do about 10mph? I turned everything off demister lights ect and the ignition waited a few moments and tried again. Full power resumed but I lost it again soon after.

Any advice as to what the problem may be would be greatly appreciated

Check to see if your fuel regulator has been changed as its a vx recall, also the 2.2 in notorious for the high pressure fuel pump alos going, do you have the siemens pump or continental

I have just read the watch dog link I can't believe it, if you have the fuel regulator replaced and or the pump why does it not solve the problem? Why is it they are replacing inferior parts with inferior parts? Or have they since managed to clear up this fault? Once again thanks guy's I feel a lot better........I think now knowing what it may be.

Yes I did 3 months warranty, we went over this morning in my partners car and they will deal with it on Tuesday. But I have said I point blank refuse to drive it there I'm from Burton the dealer is in Tamworth. So I not sure how it will get to the garage.

I started it this morning and the fault has cleared I'm worried now when they take it they won't be able to find the fault once it's plug into the diagnostic kit

Does anyone think that it's got something to do with the fact I filled the tank full with fuel?
